Insulet and Johnson & Johnson announced an agreement to incorporate the OneTouch technology into the Omnipod's remote controller. The next Omnipod will have a built in blood glucose meter in the PDM, allowing you to carry one less device. Insulet already has a deal with Abbott Diabetes Care to include their Freestyle technology in their new PDM but the deal isn't exclusive. Upon release, Insulet could decide to have a separate device for each blood glucose meter technology or switch to Lifescan exclusively after the Abbott deal expires in 2013.

The MiniMed Paradigm Revel System is their second generation integrated system. The system is setup to work as a standard insulin pump or with the Medtronic Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM). The 2 devices communicate wirelessly.

Bolus on Board (BOB) shows how much glucose-lowering activity remains from recent boluses so you can avoid insulin stacking, improve bolus accuracy, and know your current carb deficit or insulin deficit. BOB does not measure any basal insulin activity, only the amount of insulin that is still active from recent boluses. A pump requires an accurate DIA to accurately calculate the BOB.
Different insulin pumps will recommend very different bolus amounts when:

Insulin leaks from your reservoir or infusion set are usually so small they are quite hard to detect. Your pump will not warn you of leaks. Insulin has a distinctive smell, often describes as creosote, or railroad ties, or Band Aids. Regular blood sugar tests are the only reliable way to detect leaks. No warning except for high blood sugars!
My insulin pump is transparent and I can see it's heart and watch as the motor delivers my basal and bolus insulin. What I can't see is just as important. One might say the pump has an electronic "soul". You still have to guide it along, but most of its functions you do not have to think about. It becomes part of you, and the only evidence it is working is better glucose control.
Sooil has been making insulin pumps for the world market since 1981. Their newest pump, the DANA Diabecare II, received FDA approval in August, 2000, and about a year later began to be distributed in the U.S. The Korean-assembled DANA II is new to the U.S., but Dana has over 40,000 pump wearers worldwide.

Medtronic MiniMed's current Paradigm 522 and 722 or x22 insulin pumps are nearly identical to the x15 pumps except for the addition of a graphical readout for the Paradigm RT continuous monitor.
