K,
As pardigm user know, the BD BG monitors are, at best flakey at worst, consistantly unreliable. In some cases Ouiji boards give more accurate BG results.

Makes you wonder if BD didn't drop the segment because the tech was flawed.

Anyway, MM says they are going to have a "new meter option soon"

Any insights? Inquiring minds want to know!

Hi,Carlos?Do you mena that you do not trust the results of the CGM by Minimed (Paradigm Reatl Time)?

No, no, no...Sorry for any confusion, My comment was directed toward the Becton Dickinson (BD) Meters that are currently the only ones the "beam" results to paradigm meters.

As an aside, I have spoken to MM CGM users who are very dissatisfied but also a fewer number who are happy...I really can't decide where to be on those.

As to the BD meters ("paradigm link") they are, in my experience, buggy. BD dumped the technology for a reason(?). MM website says they will offer a new meter option "soon". (go to mm website and click Uodate on BD products). The first two I had were replaced by mail as DOA. I have one now that is a random number generator compared to a OneTouch!

BD has sold it's glucose monitoring division - so you'll still get the same old product. I never used the BD meter with my Minimed pump. I use a Freestyle Mini and I find it very accurate.

I also got a lemon when I tried Minimed's continuous glucose monitor. It wasn't that accurate, and I had to keep my pump almost right on top of the transmitter. Apparently you are supposed to be able to have the pump as much as 6 feet away from the transmitter but I only got 6 inches. Also, it didn't read my lows at all and was usually about 30% different from my freestyle reading - which was never out by more than 4% from the lab. So guess which I got rid of.

Apparently the newer and smaller version is more accurate. I think I'll just continue to test. It doesn't bother me and my a1c is ok.

I have no experience with the newer MM line since my 507. I use the Cozmonitor, Freestyle sticks, which clamps over the IR port of the Deltec pump, very handy being in one unit. Then there's the OneTouch Ultra to calibrate the Dexcom. We spend a small fortune in test supplies!
