I am a big baby when it comes to sticking myself with anything bigger than a fingerstick...boohoo One reason I love a pump!
I have lived with two MiniMed pumps and one Cozmore. I had mental problems throwing the soft-set into myself. When the MM Sof-serter came about I got it and it made things better. Then I switched to the Sil-serter when I switched infusion sets, this was even better. The switch to Deltec and the Comfort soft cannula infusion set was a disappointment with Deltec. They never came forward with an inserter! The Cleo is nice yet my insulin clogs the tubing.
I'm a efin engineer type and have modified the Comfort unit with two drill holes so it fits the MM Sil-serter. It would be better if the throw were a few hundreds less.

Why cant Deltec do something like that for us? Or is there no demand and I'm the only one with this challenge?

Thank you for your time and consideration,

Whit

D'Buzz is silent...Hey people you can type questions, answers and gripe here. You'll be amazed how much experience and shared situations are out here, yet you have to speak.

Or a few tenths more! ;--)

Your prayers are answered. A revised Cleo set is now out that apparently eliminates the clogging problem encountered on the previous version. (I have not tried it yet.) This self-contained set requires the user to push the needle in, followed by a spring extraction of the needle. Overall, its a very good system if the clogging problem is gone.

Another good option is the Inset set by Animas. Also self-contained, a spring-loaded insertion is followed by manual extraction of the needle. Both sets stick well, but remember to tack the line down with tape so josling the line doesn't loosen the teflon and allow leaking.

Straight-in teflon sets work better than slanted sets in any spring loader, so give them a try.

Thanks John, I'll try the New Cleo when this box of comforts gets lower. As you posted I found the original Cleo would glog in the infusion tubing.
